Theater of Harlem, and The Edge Center for Performing Arts.
In 2003, Montez was selected to intern at Broadway Dance
Center, after attending Michele Assaf’s Pre-Professional
Intensive in 2002. He is the recipient of many scholarships
and awards. He was also a 2005 & 2006 featured

Gala and can be seen performed in dance competitions and
studios throughout the United States.
After training professionally at the Ailey/Fordham BFA
dance program from 2004-2006 in NY, Montez transitioned
to Atlanta. He has decided to immerse himself in
his choreography and teaching. He is now a transfer
student at Morehouse College. He has been a choreographer
and guest instructor for Inspirations Dance Academy for
three years in Long Island, NY. His choreography
has led the team to first place overall small group, large
groups, and “Best Choreography.”
In 2007, he worked as a choreographer and contemporary
instructor for Southern Dance Connection, where his groups
and solo choreography led the company to an extremely successful
season. In addition to judging and performing, he
currently choreographs/teaches at Starbound Dance Company,
Dance 101, Norma’s Dance Academy, Our Lady of Mercy
High, and Susan Chambers School of Theatre Dance. His
young, energetic, daring, and powerful work is stunning
audiences, judges, and dance educators everywhere. While
he continues to expand his teaching and choreography, he
is committed to sharing his artistry with the rest of the
dance world.
